Anyone who has watched the sun set over the Arizona desert knows the sky does something otherworldly. Layers of pink, purple and blue erupt across the horizon in a way that looks surreal. That exact moment inspired the design brief for this styled shoot.
Planner and designer Katie of Cedar & Sage Weddings built the concept around the colors of an Arizona sunset, carrying hues of bright blue, pink and purple from the ceremony arch through to the reception tablescape. Custom wallpaper softened the ceremony arch stands. True to the cotton candy skies that inspired the concept, actual cotton candy made an appearance in the signature drinks and on the tablescape itself. Small colorful spheres were scattered throughout the florals, adding a whimsical texture that kept the eye moving.
The result was a design that captured the Arizona sky at its most vivid and made a strong case for taking more design cues from nature.
