Kelsey and Chuck's wedding was years in the making. After meeting in Alaska during Chuck’s Air Force service, the couple’s journey led them to Guam, then Germany, where life threw them an unthinkable curve: Kelsey was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer at just 31. Now receiving treatment in Arizona, their focus shifted from logistics and military schedules to hope, presence and love in its purest form.
So when the day finally came to celebrate their marriage with the full wedding they’d always dreamed of, it was infused with both immense joy and perspective.
Set at The Scott Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, the aesthetic embraced the couple’s personal style: warm, tropical greenery layered with delicate blooms, woven textures and tropical blossoms. Kelsey wore a whimsical off-the-shoulder gown with intricate floral appliqué, while Chuck kept things sharp in a light tan suit. Custom vow books, a bamboo fan etched with their names and cocktails garnished with a nod to their cat added personality throughout.
The ceremony took place backdropped by an open stone arch dressed in striking florals. Inside, the reception was lush yet easygoing—tables lined with citrus, textural arrangements, and lush leaves. Later that night, the newlyweds let loose on the dance floor with their closest friends and family, laughing, dancing and soaking in every last minute of the celebration they’d waited so long to have.
