Following a love story exploring the concept of “death and new life in all things,” this short film brings a fresh perspective to the traditional wedding styled shoot. Set in the romantic ambiance of The Camby Hotel, videographer Kyle Hustis of Hustis Film Co. imagined a combination of photo and film that servs as a sort of music video scored by Taylor Swift and Post Malone’s “Fortnite.” Drama drips from every scene of this short, the deep and moody plum hues of the florals crafted by Whitney Slade reflecting the complexity of real-life relationships. Accessorizing with unique black gloves and matching veil, the contrast of the dark tulle against a traditional ivory ball gown furthers the push-pull concept explored through the visual depiction of two people finding new life in their dedicated love for each other. Produced by Soul Agave, this one-of-a-kind shoot encapsulates the raw emotion that is often unable to be communicated through conventional executions of styled shoots. Choreographed to follow a couple’s journey of emotional distance to full entanglement, the blend of dramatic lighting, movement and aesthetic styling crescendos in a display of an abstract romantic journey that leaves viewers emotionally charged.
